Biography

My name is Ramon Campirano and I am a fine art/documentary photographer based in Austin, Texas. As I am still at the beginning stages of building my career in photography, I am working to hone my voice and photographical identity through capturing the importance of the world around. I believe we all experience the world based on our individual backgrounds.

My goal is to capture images that multiple viewers can connect to and allows them to be transplanted to a place, time, or experience different from their current state. Apart from the big picture focus of my photography, I enjoy memorializing life changing experiences for others and those close to me.

Artist Statement

Artistry is not a trait I was inherently born with but something I have worked to develop over time. Like many of us becoming, it has only been through my failures, professionally and personally, that I have been able to explore what truly motivates me and what I want to contribute to society.

In the spring of 2019, I found my passion in photography and the stories a photograph can convey to the viewer. Until now, my work has centered on taking photos of my family and capturing the physical places where my fondest childhood memories took place. Sadly, what I have found is that many of these places and people have changed so greatly that they are rendered almost unrecognizable. As I work to improve my voice as a photographer, I have found that images and stories of real-life individuals bring truth to an image which has drawn me more into documentary and fine art photography.

My work is primarily influenced by my desire to capture people and things in their natural environment to better preserve the beauty of everyday life.
